This year marks the 40th year that Rock Springs has been home to the Red Desert Roundup Rodeo.
Powder River Rodeo Company along with D&H Cattle Company are back again for this years rodeo that will take place Thursday July 27th through Saturday July 29th and there are many new, and exciting things planned.
This year will be the first year, in the 40 years of the rodeo that spectators will be able to purchase tickets using their debit or credit cards.
The Red Desert Roundup Rodeo Parade is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday July 29th. Parade entries are due by noon, Friday July 21, 2017 to the Rock Springs Chamber Of Commerce. The parade staging will run south on B Street to Cedar Street, then south on C Street to the County Court House. The Parade Route will begin at B and Broadway; heading East on Broadway; under the under pass; continuing onto M Street; left on Pilot Butte to K Street; K Street to North Front; right on North Front to Elk, left on Grant and over the overpass. The Judge’s stand will be located on Grant Street in front of the World War II Memorial Traffic Island.
The Red Desert Roundup Rodeo Golf Benefit will take place Friday July 28th, at White Mountain Golf Course. This will be a fun filled day of golf, and other activities to help raise money for non-profit organizations.
This years rodeo will feature Mutton Bustin, Mini Bulls, Kids Calf Scramble, Teen Cash Scramble on Friday July 28th as well as an Adult Cash Scramble on Saturday July 29th. Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night is scheduled to take place on Thursday July 27th. Friday night the rodeo will Salute past and present members of the United States Armed Forces with Patriot Night.
Cowboy Kenny’s Steel Rodeo Tour will also be performing their, edge of your seat Freestyle Motocross action during the rodeo as well.
