Bake Sale and Raffle To Support Local Family After Tragedy

A bake sale and raffle taking place this weekend will benefit a local family who lost two members in a terrible tragedy.

The fundraiser event will raise fund for Sami and Ian Doak who recently lost their one-year-old daughter, Stella Doak, and her great grandmother, Debra DeVries, when a vehicle drove into a Green River residence on March 10. The driver was arrested and charged after the crash.

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., people are invited to buy baked good at the American Legion Tom Whitmore Post 28, located at 38 N Center Street in Green River. Baked goods include treats like cookies, cake, cheesecake, cupcakes, and more.

In addition, a raffle will take place for a variety of donated items. Tickets are priced at $2 each, three for $5, or nine for $10. Event organizers have sold tickets throughout the week and will continue to sell tickets at the bake sale until 3 p.m. when the drawing is held. Winners do not need to be present at the drawing to win.

Raffle prizes include a $400 chef dinner at Coyote Creek, diamond necklace and earrings set from Samuel’s Jewelry, massages, haircuts and colors, gift baskets, certificates to the Rec Center and more.

Cash donations will also be accepted for the family.

GoFundMe pages have also been set up to help the family:
