Laramie, WY – The Wyoming women’s basketball will open up the 2018 Women’s National Invitation Tournament tomorrow night against the New Mexico State Aggies. Game time is set for a 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s 99.7 JACK-FM or streamed at 99KSIT.com beginning at 6:00 p.m.
This year’s WNIT appearance by the Cowgirls (21-10) will mark the eighth postseason tournament berth in Legerski’s 15 seasons at Wyoming. UW will be playing in the WNIT for the seventh time during Legerski’s tenure. Last season, the Cowgirls defeated Seattle, 68-52, before falling in overtime 68-67 to Washington State.
New Mexico State is 18-12 overall and finished first in the WAC with an 11-3 mark. New Mexico State lost to Seattle U 84-61 in the semifinals of the WAC Conference Tournament.
This will be the 23rd meeting ever between the two schools. New Mexico State leads the series 14-8. The last time the two met March 1, 1990. The Cowgirls defeated the Aggies 69-64.
