School Zone Speed Limits Back In Effect Tomorrow In Rock Springs

Rock Springs Police Chief Dewane Pacheco reminds drivers that the first day of school for Rock Springs students and other Sweetwater County School District #1 students is Monday morning.

Drivers need to be aware that School Zone speed limits will be in effect and drivers should always yield the right away to students in crosswalks.  In a recent media release, Chief Pacheco stated that there will be increased enforcement of crosswalk and school zone violations.

Chief Pacheco also points out that drivers must not pass a school bus in any direction when the bus is operating flashing lights.  This is not only a safety concern but also carries a $410.00 fine.

Sweetwater School District #2 and Green River students will start their school season on Wednesday, August 23rd.
