Wyoming- Interstate Meat Distributors, Inc. in Oregon is recalling over 28,000 pounds of ground beef for possible E. coli contamination. The ground beef products were produced on December 20, 2021. By clicking here, you can view the labels of the products that are being recalled.

The number on the recalled products will say “EST. 965” inside the USDA mark of inspection or printed next to the time stamp and use or freeze by date. The states affected by this recall are Wyoming, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

The issue was reported to FSIS after a retail package of ground beef was purchased and submitted to a third-party laboratory for microbiological analysis and the sample tested positive for E. coli O157:H7.

People who have these products are urged not to consume them. Instead, these products need to be thrown away or returned to the store they were purchased from. Local stores that may have these recalled items include Walmart and Albertson’s. Walmart in Rock Springs could not be reached for comment and the Rock Springs Albertson’s meat department said that they do not believe that they have received this batch of ground beef products, but people should still check for the EST. 965 on the packages.
