Dirt track racing is a big deal in the Delp family. In our household, it’s a culture, experience, lifestyle, and a passion! Even our children race. As other children play in the dirt, ours race in it.

Since 2010 when I met my husband, I was immediately thrown into the racing lifestyle, and I love everything about it. I still worry every race, as I stand at the fence, my eyes burning from the exhaust fumes, getting hit in the face with mud. I still find it to be the best seat!

There are moments of perception you get at a Dirt Track late at night, as dark as a movie theater. Clouds of red dust, the cars roaring. Then, there’s the fans, huddled up in blankets, roughing the could to support their family, friends, and strangers. There’s no better way to spend a Friday and Saturday night!

The good often outweighs the bad as I see the excitement in my husband’s eyes after he finishes. Or, when one of our own wins, and we all get to pose in the victory lane for a photo. Having fun is always more important to our family, no matter the outcome. I will always love choosing his dream!
