Let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard to find time to read. I get it. Between work, school, kids and other commitments, sitting down and reading a book may seem impossible. But I’ll let you in on a secret — listening to books is also considered reading. So if you feel like you don’t have time to read, try listening to a book while you are doing other things. Audiobooks are great to listen to during a workout, while taking a walk, or while doing housework. I also like to listen to them when driving to work.
Technology has made listening to audiobooks significantly easier. While you can still check out a book on CD at any of the library branches, we also offer digital audiobooks that can be downloaded straight to your smartphone for easier access. And we have tens of thousands of options when it comes to audiobooks. Our service offered through RB Digital has more than 31,000 audiobook options. Our other services – Hoopla and Overdrive – also have many audiobooks available to check out. The best part is that library patrons can check them out for no charge with their library cards. There’s no need to pay for a subscription audiobook service – these books are available 25/7.
