19th Annual Rally In The Alley at the Ponderosa and Embassy

For 19 years now, the Rally In The Alley Poker Run has helped raise money for the Sweetwater County Chapter of Disabled American Veterans. Hosted by the Embassy Tavern and Ponderosa Bar, this year’s Rally In The Alley will take place this Saturday, August 14th.

The event kicks off with a parade at 8 am starting at Flaming Gorge Harley Davidson on Uinta Drive. Participants then head to Railroad Avenue to sign-up at 9 am for the poker run and grab their first hand. The cost is $10.00, and $5.00 for additional hands.

The poker run route begins at either the Embassy or Ponderosa; stops include Flaming Gorge Harley Davidson, Buckboard Marina, Badlands in Mountain View, the Red Feather in Green River, and ends at the Ponderosa and Embassy. Hands are due by 5 pm, and the winner will be announced by 6:00.

There are many other events that will go on throughout the day on Railroad Avenue. The Dunk Tank will start at 3 pm; show your strength at the Arm Wrestling Tournament at 6 pm; the Pool Tournament will begin at 7 pm; and a Swimsuit Contest at 8 pm. Vendors will include Carl’s Barbeque, Buffalo 44 Pizza, and Gourmet Cotton Candy. There will even be Fish Races!

At 9 pm, the local band Wyoming Raised will take the stage between the two bars. The Rally In The Alley raises significant money for the DAV each year – if you would like to donate cash or a raffle item, please contact the Embassy or the Ponderosa.

All involved thank you for your support! To keep in touch, follow the Embassy Tavern on Facebook. See you at the Rally In The Alley on Saturday, August 14!
