“The dates for the AIS seminars are August 13th and September 10th,” Warner said. “We will begin each presentation at 7 pm and will run approximately one hour. The presentation will cover the biology and introduction of AIS in the U.S. We will also be taking a look at the harmful effects AIS cause to the waterways they have been introduced into, as well as potential threats to Wyoming waters. The event is informal and will conclude with a short Q&A session.”

Aquatic invasive species are non-native organisms that can cause significant harm to an ecosystem when introduced. AIS like zebra and quagga mussels are small organisms that could have huge impacts for Wyoming’s waters, boaters, and anglers. They can ruin fisheries, clog cooling systems in motorboats, foul hulls, and ruin equipment. Anyone who uses water or recreates on water will be impacted.
