September 20, 2021 — According to the letter sent to Rock Springs Mayor Tim Kaumo, dated September 3, 2021, Pacific Minerals, Inc, (dba Bridger Coal Company) will permanently close its mining operations on or after November 19, 2021.

The mine is located at Point of Rocks, Wyoming, in Sweetwater County. The letter states that 94 workers will be affected by this closure. An attachment to the letter shows 26 of the positions are listed as management positions with the other 68 listed as union positions.
Bridger Coal Company was founded in 1973.
