Carbon County Sheriff seeks “person of interest” in Monday shooting death

ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING (May 12, 2020) — The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the death of a man whose body was found early Monday morning. According to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office report, a local resident called dispatch shortly before 6:30 Monday morning to report a suspicious vehicle on County Road 215, just off of Highway 30. The caller reported an unresponsive person was in the back seat.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol responded and found a man who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

At last report, authorities are looking for a described “person of interest”. He is Marcos Esteban Garza Calderon, a juvenile, who may be armed and dangerous. Calderon is described as 5’6″ tall, weighing 130 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Officials did not release his age or residence.

Information on the identity of the suspected victim and his relationship with Calderon has not been released.
