SWEETWATER COUNTY, WYOMING (June 22, 2021) – At the beginning of June, longtime Sweetwater County treasurer Robb Slaughter announced his retirement after 33 years of public service.

At the Sweetwater County Commissioners meeting on June 15, the board accepted Slaughter’s letter of resignation and the process to replace the democrat treasurer began.

The democratic party of Sweetwater County has 30 days to choose three nominations to replace Slaughter. The nominations must be submitted by Friday, July 16.

On Tuesday, July 20, the Sweetwater County Board of Commissioners will choose the next county treasurer from the three nominations.

Craig Rood from Ciner and Fred VonAhrens from Genesis Alkali presented Sweetwater County Treasurer Rob Slaughter with a trona clock to celebrate his retirement.

The clock was to thank Slaughter for his years of support of the Trona Industry. The clock was presented on behalf of Ciner, Genesis, Solvay and Tata.
