Sweetwater County’s Supply of Oxygen Concentrator Devices is Limited – Sweetwater County Public Health was notified today that the usual supply of Oxygen Concentrator devices in the county is limited and running low. An order of Oxygen Concentrators is expected to be delivered today and another by early next week. Unfortunately, these orders will not bring supplies to normal levels but we are working to obtain more.
Public Health has reached out to the State to secure supplies if needed, but Oxygen Concentrators are a scarce resource nationwide due to the increased numbers of positive COVID-19 patients and their need for oxygen treatment. Kim White with Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County said the emergency department has sent over 50 patients home on oxygen since September 1, 2021, “having oxygen concentrators for home use is essential in the treatment of many lung diseases including COVID-19”.
Oxygen Concentrators are medical devices used for delivering oxygen to individuals with breathing-related disorders.
