October 9, 2021 — The Wyoming Cowboy football team will open their Mountain West Conference season today at Air Force. Wyoming enters today’s game at 4-0 while the Falcons are 4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

beginning at 3:30 p.m. with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
Last week Air Force defeated New Mexico 38-10 while Wyoming was idle. Against the Lobos, the Falcons ran the ball for 408 yards on 73 attempts. They attempted only two passes the entire game. Junior running back Brad Robers led the Air Force ground attack with 142 yards on 29 carries. He also scored two rushing touchdowns. Roberts has rushed for 540 yards this season, averaging 5.1 yards per carrying.
Xzavian Vallady leads the Cowboy running game with 340 yards on the season (4.5 yards per carry). Titus Swen, 195 yards (5.0), and quarterback Sean Chambers, 108 yards (3.1), add to the Pokes running attack.
While both teams favor the running game, Wyoming has featured the passing game more than Air Force. Cowboy quarterback Sean Chambers has completed 58% of his passes this season (57 of 98) for 750 yards and five touchdowns. Air Force quarterback Haaziq Daniels has completed just 45% of his passes (15 of 33) for 384 yards and one touchdown.
The teams are evening matched when it comes to putting points on the scoreboard. The Falcon offense averages just under 34.4 points, while the Pokes are scoring an average of 34.5 points per game. On the defensive side, Air Force is giving up 15.8 points per game. In three of their five games, Air Force has given up seven points or less. The Wyoming defense is giving up 23.3 points per game.
