Cowboys and Cowgirls battle MW opponents today

January 22, 2022 — The Wyoming Cowboys basketball team will look to keep a winning streak going while the Cowgirls will look to start one. Today, The Cowgirls will be at Utah State, and the Cowboys will be home against New Mexico.

Cowgirls vs. Utah State

UW enters this afternoon’s contest at 2-3 in the MW and 6-8 overall. They will also be looking to rebound from a 70-59 loss Wednesday at Boise State, a game Wyoming led most of the contest. Utah State is 0-7 in conference play and 5-12 on the year. The Aggies have not won a game since December 8, having lost their last nine games.

The Cowgirls have won eight consecutive in the series and 12-of-13 overall, dating back to the 2016-17 season.

Today’s game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s 1360/103.5 KRKK and streamed at 1360KRKK.com beginning at 1:30 p.m. with tip-off at 2 p.m.

Cowboys vs. New Mexico

The Wyoming Cowboys continue their brief homestand this evening by hosting New Mexico. The Cowboys have won their last five games, including going 3-0 in Mountain West Conference games. UW is 14-2 on the season. New Mexico is 0-5 in the MW and 7-11 on the season. The Lobos have lost their last five games, all conference games, but four of the five losses have been by an average of 6 points.

Wyoming is 70-75 all-time against the Lobos in a series but is 41-26 against New Mexico in Laramie. UW took both meetings last season that took place in Colorado Springs.
