October 23, 2021 — The Wyoming Cowboys will play their 96th Homecoming Game today in Laramie. This year’s Homecoming opponent will be the New Mexico Lobos. Both teams will be looking to turn around their seasons as both will be looking to gain their first Mountain West Conference win of the year.

The Cowboys enters today’s game at 0-2 in conference play and 4-2 overall. After winning their first four games of the season, the Pokes have dropped their last two contests, to Air Force on the road and last Saturday at home against Fresno State. New Mexico (0-3 in the Mountain West and 2-5 overall) has had a similar season, winning their first two games before dropping their last five.
2021 Pokes Have Developed Into One of the Top Defenses in the Nation
Wyoming is tied for third in the nation in defensive touchdowns scored (3), ranks #7 in the NCAA in fewest passing yards allowed per game (158.7), is #13 in pass defense efficiency (108.56), and ranks #29 in total defense, allowing opponents only 319.8 yards per game.
The Cowboy offense looks for improvement today. Wyoming has been held scoreless the last six quarters, including last Saturday’s 17-0 loss against Fresno State.
