Cowboys Lose To CSU On Late 3 Point Shot While Cowgirls Upset CSU

The Wyoming Cowboys came for behind in the second half to nearly pull of the upset win at Colorado State last night, but the Rams Prentis Nixon hit a three point shot with six second to go to give CSU a 78-76 win.  The Cowboys trailed much of the first half and trailed 48-41 at the half.  The Cowboys fought back to lead 71-70 with 2:30 to go in the game.

Justin James had 24 points to lead to Pokes who fall to 7-10 in the MWC and 17-13 overall.  CSU improves to a league leading 13-4 and 21-9 overall.

Meanwhile, the Wyoming Cowgirls did pull off the upset with a 56-49 win over league leader Colorado State.  The Cowgirls, playing their last home game of the regular season, improve to 12-5 in Mountain West Conference play and 20-8 overall.  CSU still leads the MWC with a 14-3 mark and 22-8 overall.  Natalie Baker led Wyoming with a season high 18 points.

The Cowboys and Cowgirls each have one game to go in the regular season.  The Cowgirls will be at San Jose State on Friday with the Cowboys hosting San Jose State on Saturday.
