Cowboys Maldonado win a second MW Player of the Week honor

January 24, 2022 Today, Wyoming Cowboy guard Hunter Maldonado was once again named the Mountain West Player of the Week. Today’s recognition is the senior guard’s second honor this season. The first coming the week of December 22, 2021.

This past week, Maldonado averaged 18.7 points, ten assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game in wins over Nevada, San Jose State, and New Mexico. He also added 6.3 rebounds per game for the week.

Maldonado and the Cowboys, 4-0 in the Mountain West and 15-2 overall, will travel to league-leading Boise State Tuesday night. The Broncos own a 6-0 mark in the conference and a 15-4 overall record. Wyoming will enter the game with a six-game winning streak while Boise State has won its last 12 games. The game will be broadcast on WyoRadio 99.7 JACK-FM and 99.7KSIT.com beginning at 6:30 p.m. with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
