Wyoming Cowboys won their opening round game of the CBI Tournament last night in Laramie, 91-81 over Eastern Washington of the Big Sky Conference. The Cowboys lead 44-32 at the half, but the Eagles came back early in the second half to get within a single point at 54-53.  The Pokes then went on their own 16 to 4 run to control the game the rest of the way.
Wyoming was led in scoring by Justin James with 19 points. Â Hayden Dalton added 18 points. Â The Pokes improved to 19-14 on the season and will host their CBI second round game on Monday against the University of Missouri/Kansas City, who defeated Wisconsin Green Bay 92-82. The Roos finished fourth in the WAC and are now 18-16 on the season.
Wyoming Cowgirls start their post season play tonight when they host  Seattle University. The Cowgirls enter tonight’s game at 21-9 on the season while the Red Hawks are 15-17 after their second place finish in the WAC.
