Cowboys Win CBI Tournament Game, Cowgirls Play In WNIT Tonight

Wyoming Cowboys won their opening round game of the CBI Tournament last night in Laramie, 91-81 over Eastern Washington of the Big Sky Conference.  The Cowboys lead 44-32 at the half, but the Eagles came back early in the second half to get within a single point at 54-53.  The Pokes then went on their own 16 to 4 run to control the game the rest of the way.

Wyoming was led in scoring by Justin James with 19 points.  Hayden Dalton added 18 points.  The Pokes improved to 19-14 on the season and will host their CBI second round game on Monday against the University of Missouri/Kansas City, who defeated Wisconsin Green Bay 92-82. The Roos finished fourth in the WAC and are now 18-16 on the season.

Wyoming Cowgirls start their post season play tonight when they host  Seattle University.  The Cowgirls enter tonight’s game at 21-9 on the season while the Red Hawks are 15-17 after their second place finish in the WAC.

Tonight’s Cowgirl game will be broadcast on 1360 KRKK beginning at 6:00 pm with tip-off at 6:30.  The game will also be streamed on 1360KRKK.com.
