LARAMIE, Wyo. (August 22, 2018) – Wyoming Cowgirl head basketball coach Joe Legerski announced the addition of Alba Sanchez Ramos to the 2018-19 roster. She will attend the University of Wyoming beginning this fall semester, and she will wear No. 11 for the Cowgirls.

Alba Sanchez Ramos, 6-0, Guard, Madrid, Spain (Colegio Torrevilano): As a member of the club team HM Hospitales Torreledones in Madrid for 12 years, she represented Spain in numerous international tournaments in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018, most recently competing for Spain in the U18 FIBA Women’s European Championships. During her time on her club team, she was named the team’s Best Athlete in 2018 after being named with the Best Female Promise of 2017. She was the MVP of the Madrid Final Four in 2018, capping a six-year run as a team captain. Last season, she played on both the senior and junior Torreledones teams, and helped guide the senior team to a seventh-place finish in Madrid, while leading the junior squad to a second-place Madrid finish. In 2018, Sanchez-Ramos participated in the NBA’s “Basketball Without Borders†camp in Los Angeles and earned the High-Flyer Award, after being named to the All-Star team at the same event in Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 2017.
