October 22, 2021 — The Wyoming volleyball team lost an absolute battle Thursday night on the road as the Cowgirls came up just short of knocking off defending league champion UNLV. Wyoming ran out of steam down the stretch of the contest, losing in five hard-fought sets, 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 21-25, and 5-15.

The loss snapped Wyoming’s four-match winning streak and dropped their record to 4-5 in the Mountain West and 12-9 overall. UNLV improved to 5-2 in league play and 15-5 overall.

The Cowgirls now look to rebound and get back to another winning streak as they host San Diego State Saturday at 6:30 p.m., inside the UniWyo Sports Complex.

“Overall, I’m really proud of the effort,” head coach Colleen Corbin said. “The energy was better, the competitiveness was better, and the level was better. We definitely got better today.”

Jamie Tatum’s scored the Cowgirl’s only goal in the match in the 27th minute. It marked her fourth goal of the season, and 10th of her career, moving her into 14th place, alone, in school history.
