Cowgirls Take On Bears In WNIT Opener Tonight

Rock Springs, WY (3/21/19) – The post-season starts tonight for the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team as they host the Northern Colorado Bears in the opening round of the WNIT basketball tournament. This is the third consecutive season for Wyoming to play in the WNIT.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s 1360 KRKK and streamed at 1360KRKK.com beginning at 6:00 p.m. with tip-off at 6:30.

The Cowgirls enter tonight’s contest with a 22-8 record while Northern Colorado is 21-10.  Wyoming finished the regular season third in the MWC standings and second in the MWC Tournament.  Northern Colorado finished second in the Big Sky Conference and also was the runner-up in their post-season conference tournament.

The Cowgirls lead the Bears in the all-time series between the two schools, 18-9, however Northern Colorado won the most recent matchup in the 2013 WNIT, 71-63.

The winner of tonight’s contest will face the winner of the game between Lamar and South Alabama.
