October 11, 2021 — The University of Wyoming soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Colorado College Sunday in Laramie. The loss drops Wyoming to 6-7-1 overall and 2-4-0 in Mountain West Conference play. The victory improves Colorado College to 3-9-1 overall and 2-3-1 in league action.
Wyoming led 1-0 after forward Alyssa Bedard flip-threw a ball into the box that freshman forward Maddi Chance deposited into the back of the net. That lead would hold up until the end of the first half.
The second half was all Colorado College, who outshot the Cowgirls 11-1 in the final half and 21-8 in the contest. The Tigers scored the tying goal at the 53rd-minute mark and the eventual game-winner in the 67th-minute.
Wyoming remains at home for a pair of Mountian West games next week. The Cowgirls play host to UNLV on Friday at 3 p.m. before an 11 a.m. match against Nevada on Sunday.
The University of Wyoming Women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Ron Moore Invitational in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on Sunday. The tournament was highlighted by an excellent showing from Freshman Meghan Vogt. As a team, the Cowgirls finished in 13th place.
After scoring par in the first two rounds, Vogt capped off her weekend by shooting a 71 (-1) in the final round recording a total score of 215 (-1) through the three-round tournament. Vogt finished tied for 13th amongst a field of nationally-ranked competitors and posted her third straight top 25 finish. Sunday marked the highest finish of her career so far.
