Expect some area snow accumulation through Saturday night

January 22, 2021— You may have some snow shoveling chores ahead of you this weekend as light snow will be developing late this afternoon and continue through Saturday night for the Sweetwater County area. The National Weather Service in Riverton is forecasting total snowfall accumulations of one to three inches possible in the local area, with three to four inches possible from Wamsutter to Bairoil.

One to three inches of snow accumulation is expected in the Riverton/Lander area in Fremont County through Saturday night. High amounts are expected in the Mountain Areas.

The lower elevations of Natrona County are expecting three to five inches of snow with six to 10 inches forecast for Casper Mountain.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued until 5 PM Friday for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Mountain Ranges, where 12-20 inches of snowfall are possible. The cities of Laramie and Cheyenne are expecting two to four inches of accumulation.
