January 13, 2022 — For the first time in nearly two weeks, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will hit the floor as the Cowgirls host New Mexico tonight in Laramie. The last time the Cowgirls played was a December 31 66-60 road loss at UNLV. The last three contests have been postponed due to health and safety protocols.
UW enters tonight’s game with a 1-1 record in the Mountain West and 5-6 on the year. New Mexico currently leads the Mountain West with a 4-0 mark and 13-4 on the season. New Mexico is currently riding a four-game winning streak, all conference games. The Lobos last played January 9, a 75-72 home win over San Diego State.
Tonight’s Cowgirls game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s 1360/103.5 KRKK and 1360KRKK.com beginning at 6 p.m. with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
New Mexico leads the all-time series with the Cowgirls, 42-38, and has won three of the last four in the series.
One of the Cowgirls’ postponed games has already been rescheduled as Boise State will now come to Laramie for a 6:30 p.m. contest on January 25. That game was initially scheduled for January 3.
