Hemp Bill Approved By House Of Representatives

The Wyoming House of Representatives voted to approve House Bill 171 earlier today. The bill was sponsored by Representative Bunky R. Loucks of District 59 and co-sponosred by 16 representatives and eight Senators.

Stated in the bill under hemp as an agricultural crop; use of hemp, “Hemp is an agricultural crop in this state. Upon meeting the requirements of this article, a person may produce or process hemp.” The bill also states, “Notwithstanding the requirements of this article, the possession, purchase, sale, transportation and use of hemp and hemp products by any person is allowable without restriction.”

The bill also covers many other topics including licensing, enforcement, penalties, among many others.

The bill now goes to Governor Mark Gordon and those who passed the bill will await his decision.
