Rock Springs, WY (3/10/19) – The regular season came to an end yesterday for the Mountain West Conference and now it’s on to Las Vegas for The Air Force Reserve Mountain West Basketball Championships.
The Woman’s Tournament will begin today with three games: Nevada vs. San Jose State, San Diego State vs. Air Force and Utah State vs. Colorado State. UNLV plays Fresno State on Monday in an opening round game. Conference champ Boise State, New Mexico (#2) and Wyoming (#3) received opening round byes and will open play Monday with second round games. The Wyoming Cowgirls will meet the Utah State/Colorado State winner Monday at 9:30 p.m.

The Men’s tournament will begin play on Wednesday. Opening games have the Wyoming Cowboys taking on New Mexico at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Pokes have won their last two games, including Saturday’s 88-81 home game over the Lobos. Other Wednesday opening games have Colorado State vs. Boise State and San Jose State vs. Air Force. UNLV will play San Diego State on Thursday in a round one matchup. Nevada, Utah State and Fresno State received opening round byes and will play their first games on Thursday with opponents determined by Wednesday results.
