GREEN RIVER, WYOMING — Green River High School standout tennis player, Gabrielle (Gabby) Heiser signed her “letter of intent” tonight. She will be signing her letter of intent to play at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. According to Coach Trumble and Coach Harder, “this is only the second student from Green River High School that will play College Tennis for a long time, at least ever since Coach Trumble has been here.”

Gabby originally wanted to play volleyball, but after talking with her coaches, decided to try tennis out. That summer she found out how much she really enjoyed it. She started tennis as a freshman in high school playing third doubles. Since participating in the sport, Gabby said, “Tennis has given me a lot of different opportunities,” as well as mentioning that her biggest accomplishments that will follow her are “the mental toughness that is needed to play tennis, and how it greatly improved being calm and focused”. She also plays basketball for Green River High School.

Some of her favorite memories from tennis are, of course, being in All-State, but she reflected on a time during her freshman year. “I was losing a match and the whole team was just cheering me on. It was great. I will miss my coaches and teammates and everyone that has helped me improve my game.”

She finds her inspiration in her parents. Gabby spoke highly of them, saying that “they have always supported me and what I want to do, especially when it came to tennis.”

She is currently unsure about the direction for her major in college, but expressed an interest in the medical field, having said “I really want to help people.” Regardless of what field she chooses, she clearly has a bright future ahead of her.
