Local gas prices may take a hike due to government sanctions towards Russia

February 28, 2022 — With the war activities currently going on in Ukraine, and economic sanctions being applied to Russia, economists are warning that higher fuel prices could be coming our way soon.

According to the website gasbuddy.com, local Rock Springs and Green River prices of regular-grade gasoline were in the $3.29 to $3.40 range as of this morning, February 28. Additionally, gasbuddy.com is reporting that the cheapest gas in the state is $2.95 per gallon in Cheyenne, with the state’s highest gas prices found in Teton County, with regular per gallon prices as high as possible $3.75 per gallon.

The state’s average price of a gallon of regular-grade gasoline was $3.43 as of Sunday.

According to a story at Rueters.com, oil prices jumped on Monday. Brent crude rose $2.65, or 2.7%, to $100.58 by 1255 GMT after touching a high of $105.07 a barrel in early trading.
