Local Teams Have Rough First Day Of State Basketball

Rock Springs, WY (3/9/19) – Thursday was a rough day for Sweetwater County and area boys and girls basketball teams at the 4A and 3A Wyoming State Basketball Tournaments.

The Lyman girls were the only area team to post a win, scoring a 58-36 victory over Torrington in the 3A Tournament.  Lyman will move on to today’s semi-finals against Powell at 4:30 p.m.  Mountain View lost their opening 3A game 51-42 to Buffalo and play Lander at 10:30 in a loser out contest.

The Rock Springs Lady Tigers lost 54-37 to Campbell County in a 4A game.  The Lady Tigers will play Casper Kelly Walsh at 9:00 a.m. in a loser out game. That game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s HITS NOW! 106, 106.7 FM and streamed at 106KMRZ.com.

The Green River Lady Wolves dropped a 65-49 decision to Thunder Basin moving them into a loser out contest at 10:30 this morning against Cheyenne Central.  Last night, the Green River boys suffered a 63-54 loss to Campbell County moving them into a loser out game against Evanston at 1:30 p.m.
