...Significant Winter Storm Likely Monday...

A potent weather system is shaping up to affect Central and
Western Wyoming, encompassing both sides of the Divide. Steady
moderate to heavy snowfall is expected to begin during the pre
dawn hours Monday morning in Western Wyoming and last through
about mid day Monday, followed by additional moderate to heavy
snow showers Monday afternoon. We can expect a likelihood of
significant snowfall accumulation in Western Wyoming by late
Monday. The combination of strong winds and significant snowfall
will likely result in considerable blowing and drifting snow in
Western Wyoming.

In addition, very strong winds will accompany this weather
system, with the strongest winds expected at the higher
elevations, the east facing slopes of the Continental Divide and
the adjacent foothills, as well as along the Southern Wind
Corridor from Rock Springs to Casper. Very strong winds are also
likely across the Central Basins east of the Divide and Northern
Johnson County Monday evening. Almost all areas will experience
significant winds at some point.

Stay tuned for further updates, statements and possible warnings
concerning this storm as this weather system evolves.
