Pokes to play rival Rams in opening round of the MWC tournament

ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING (MARCH 4, 2020) – The Wyoming Cowboys will open play today at the Air Reserve Mountain West Basketball Championship in Las Vegas. Their opponent, rival number-one, Colorado State.


The contest will tip-off at 6 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s 99.7 JACK FM and streamed at 99KSIT.com beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Wyoming is the No. 11 seed in the tournament sporting a 7-23 overall record (2-16 in the MW). Colorado State (11-7 in the MW) is the #6 seed with a 20-11 overall mark. The Pokes have lost twice to the Rams already this season, 72-61 in Fort Collins and 77-70 in Laramie. Wyoming led most of the game played in Laramie, with the Rams pulling out the win in the last minute of play.


The winner of tonight’s contest will will advance to the quarterfinals to take on the No. 3 seed Nevada (19-11 overall, 12-6 in the MW) in a 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
