RSHS and GRHS marching bands receive “Excellent” scores at UW band invite

October 15, 2021 — Last Saturday, October 9, the Rock Springs and Green River High School marching bands performed at a day-long competition at the University of Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium. Both the Rock Springs and Green River marching bands received excellent scores.

The marching band competition/invitational featured 15 high school marching bands from around the region. UW’s Western Thunder Marching Band and the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps hosted the competition.

Each school performed during a 12 to 15-minute time slot, with the bands being judged in four categories: marching/visual execution, music, percussion, and auxiliary.

Windsor, Colorado, won the overall title with Casper Kelly Walsh High School placing second and Stevens High School from Rapid City, South Dakota finishing third.
