District #2 Superintendent Craig Barringer will be making the recommendations. The meeting notice states, These changes will hopefully address the high numbers of students who have been getting quarantined through contact tracing. The change DOES NOT mandate masks, but does help students or staff to not get quarantined if they are wearing masks when another individual has tested positive for COVID-19.

Here is the part of the Smart Start Plan that will change: Face coverings will be optional will be replaced with Face coverings will be recommended. Through contact tracing, if the student or staff member is wearing a face covering at school when another student or staff have tested positive for COVID-19, he or she will not be quarantined unless he or she is displaying symptoms. See Appendix B (Quarantine Orders-School Exposure)
