Sweetwater County’s June unemployment up to 7.1%

July 20, 2021 — The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services is reporting Sweetwater County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 7.1% in June, up from May’s 6.4%. That is the state’s second-highest rate trailing only Natrona’s County’s 7.4%. However, on the bright side, Sweetwater County’s rate unemployment rate was down considerably from June 2020s 9.1%.

Wyoming’s June unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.4%, slightly lower than the nation’s 5.9% rate. The June report stated most county unemployment rates followed their normal seasonal pattern and increased slightly from May to June.

Other area county seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for June were Sublette County at 6.9% (up from 6.7% in May), Uinta County6.6% (up from 6.0%), Carbon County 4.4% (up from 4.3%),Lincoln County 4.5% (down from 4.7%).
