October 15, 2021 — While the early week snow in our area and in the state was nice from a much need moisture standpoint, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton is saying the state’s long-term drought conditions continue. Forecasters are saying that our drought conditions are most likely going to continue through the winter.

As noted on the chart at the top of the page, most of Sweetwater County falls into the serve drought condition category with portions of the extreme southern part of the county experiencing extreme drought conditions.

The local seven-day forecast will not aid the drought fight as the only chance of moisture appears to be Monday and Monday night.
