UW Trustees Plan Teleconference Meeting Wednesday

Old Main – west – building

The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees will consider a number of issues during a meeting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, via teleconference.

Those wishing to attend the meeting may do so in the Old Main boardroom. The meeting will begin with an executive session.

Agenda items include consideration of a proposed project as part of the Trustees Education Initiative, a report on UW financial services reorganization and a legislative update.

Additionally, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the board will accept public comment on recommendations regarding student tuition.

The board is being asked to consider a 4 percent increase in tuition for in-state undergraduates. To see details on the proposed increase, go online to www.uwyo.edu/trustees/_files/docs/2018-19-resident-tuition-table.pdf. The proposal is in line with the board’s current four-year tuition policy. Adopted in 2015, the policy may be found at www.uwyo.edu/trustees/_files/docs/tuition-policy.pdf.

Additionally, the board will consider recommendations aimed at helping the university increase enrollment in accordance with its strategic plan. That includes reducing annual undergraduate out-of-state tuition from $15,480 at present to $9,500. The recommendations, along with the rationale for the proposed changes, are detailed in a report presented last month to the Board of Trustees: www.uwyo.edu/trustees/_files/docs/2018_board_meetings/2018_jan_supplemental/2018_jan_capacity_study_final_1-23.pdf. The recommendation regarding nonresident tuition is on page 66.

Those wishing to address the Board of Trustees directly during the Feb. 14 meeting may join the meeting via telephone or Zoom videoconference at 8:30 a.m. To make arrangements to speak during that meeting, email [email protected] by noon Monday, Feb. 12, with your name and phone number.

Public sessions of the board are streamed online at https://zoom.us/j/381140209?pwd=&status=success.

Those wishing to provide written comments on the tuition recommendations also may do so by going online to www.uwyo.edu/trustees/public-comment/. The deadline for written comments is noon Monday, Feb. 12, so that they can be presented to the Board of Trustees before its Feb. 14 meeting.

The complete agenda for the Feb. 14 meeting is available at www.uwyo.edu/trustees/2018-meeting-materials/february_14_2018_meeting.html.
