After rescuing one of their employees who was stranded atop White Mountain in blizzard conditions late last month, representatives from Visionary Broadband expressed their appreciation this week to Sweetwater County Search and Rescue during a special presentation in which the company donated $500 to the volunteer organization.

Visionary’s Monte Chambers and Public Relations Director Stacie McDonald presented a thank you note and check to Search and Rescue Commander Chris Schutz and Captain Ron Orr. Sheriff’s Office Captain Brett Stokes, Sweetwater County Emergency Management Coordinator Judy Roderick and many other search and rescue volunteers also attended the meeting.
In a statement from Visionary, McDonald wrote, “We hope this donation can assist you in your continued efforts to serve your communities!”

Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jason Mower said, “Commander Schutz and Captain Orr are long-time search and rescue veterans. In fact, there probably is not another pair of human beings alive today who know every inch of Sweetwater County as intimately as Chris and Ron, and they have literally hundreds of successful rescues under their belt. Sweetwater County Search and Rescue exists exclusively as a volunteer organization and has served our community for over 50 years. We are incredibly fortunate to have all of these volunteers as a part of our team.”
