What are we celebrating today? October 13, 2021

October 13, 2021 — Every day has something to celebrate!

Here is what we are celebrating today:

“Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day” – You and your teddy bear cuddling by the office copy machine. Of course, nobody will notice that, right?

“Emergency Nurses Day” – A day to honor those nurses that work the E.R.

“International Top Spinning Day” – The top is one of the oldest toys in the world, dating back to 35 B.C. A wooden top was found in the tomb of King Tut (so he wouldn’t get bored in the afterlife?).

“Fossils Day” – Generally speaking, fossils are items and former living creatures, including man, that has mineralized and are more than 10,000 years old.

Birthdays babies for October 13:

Singer Paul Simon is 80 (Simon and Garfunkel fame)
Rocker Sammy Hager is 74 (Known as the “Red Rocker” and former lead singer of Van Halen)
Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice is 59 (Won three Super Bowls with the 49ers)
Former ice-skating star Nancy Kerrigan is 69 (Wonder if she gets happy B’Day cards from former competitor Tonya Harding?)
