Rock Springs, WY (3/10/19) – The Wyoming high school basketball season came to a close Saturday night in Casper with the 4A Boys Wyoming State Basketball Championship game between Casper Kelly Walsh and Gillette’s Campbell County.

Casper Kelly Walsh would reign supreme by winning the 4A Boys championship for the second time in three years, 60-36, over Campbell County. Sheridan finished third with a 73-61 win against Cheyenne East and Evanston won the Consolation Championship, 49-48 over Cheyenne Central.
In 4A Girls, Gillette’s Thunder Basin won their first state basketball title in defeating Cheyenne East, 70-58. Campbell County took home third place, 64-56, over Star Valley and the Green River Lady Wolves defeated Rock Springs 44-36 for the Consolation Championship.

In the 3A Boys tournament, Lander defeated Powell 58-40 for the championship. It marks Lander’s first boys championship since 2008. Buffalo would take third in a 53-43 win over Wheatland and Worland defeated Pinedale 57-33 for the Consolation Championship.
The Lyman Lady Eagles lost in the 3A Girls title game, 56-41, to Douglas. The Douglas girls have now won the 3A state title three years in-a-row. Buffalo garnered third place, 48-30 over Powell and Mountain View wrapped up their season with a 41-39 win over Rawlins for the Consolation Championship.
