LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 14, 2019) – Wyoming Department of Transportation maintenance crews will continue to clear area roads following heavy snowfall yesterday and this morning.
Crews have reported drifts as large as 10 feet deep along sections of I-80 in the Laramie and Arlington areas and will be using rotary plows and other equipment to move those drifts.
High winds are expected to continue for much of the day Thursday, which will hamper visibility due to blowing snow.
Once crews can get road surfaces clear and visibility improves, highways will begin to reopen across Southeast Wyoming. WYDOT is also coordinating with partner agencies in Nebraska and Colorado on road openings where applicable.
