**** With the new school start times for Sweetwater County School District #1 students coming up in August, officials are reminding students and parents that bus pickup times and routes may have changed. Parents are asked to check the new District #1 morning and afternoon routes as the bus taking students to school may be different than the bus bringing them home. Also, due to school start times, morning bus seats may be limited, so parents may want to consider driving students to school. However, afternoon routes will be more flexible, so seating should not be a problem. District #1 bus routes and times can be found on their website.
**** The Archie Hay Post 24 American Legion in Rock Springs is collecting clothing and other essential school needs for a giveaway event occurring July 24 and 25 at the Post. New or gently used clothing can be dropped off at the Post on Broadway until 6 p.m. on Monday, July 19. In past years, the local group Four Moms did this school clothing drive but cannot do it this year, so Post 24 stepped in.
**** Today, the Sweetwater County Library System will present magician Andrew Wonder at Centennial Park in Green River. The free performance will take place at 11 a.m. On Thursday, Wonder will be performing at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. at the Broadway Theater in Rock Springs. Those two shows are also free.
**** The Charity Chow Down event will be taking place today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Bunning Park. The event will feature various food trucks and other non-profit vendors, with the food trucks donating 10% of their sales to many area nonprofit organizations. The event is part of the statewide WyoGives, a day in which a statewide total of 190 non-profits will benefit.
**** Tonight’s Concert in the Park at Bunning Park will also occur at 7 p.m. with the band Stones Throe. Thursday night’s free Concert at the Clocktower in Green River will have Many Strings playing at 7 p.m.
**** If you’re looking for some water fun, Dip, Dodge, and Splash will take place today at Century West Park from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The Blairtown pool will be closed today, with the Washington pool open at regular hours.
**** The Green River Farmers Market will occur today from 4 until 7 p.m. at Unita Drive and Roosevelt. The Rock Springs Main Street Market will take place Thursday evening in Downtown Rock Springs.
