November 1, 2021 — Here is a recap of this morning’s top Wyo4News stories.
**** We will have cloudy skies today with a chance of some rain and snow showers this morning and possible rain showers this afternoon and this evening. High today at 45. Tonight 32. Tuesday, we have another chance of rain and snow showers with a high of 48. Wednesday, we should see some sunshine with a high near 47.
**** A public meeting for information and comments on Sweetwater County’s proposed Legislative Redistricting changes will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, at 5:30 at the Rock Springs City Hall. District 12 Senator John Kolb and District 48 Representative Clark Stith will attend to gather public comments on proposed legislative redistricting.
**** Tomorrow is election day. Here in Sweetwater County, residents will be voting on a 1 percent general-purpose tax proposition. If approved, the tax would be in addition to the current 1 percent sales and use tax. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Those who are not currently registered to vote can register at their polling place.
**** Both the Rock Springs and Green River Chambers of Commerce will begin taking reservations for their respective Adopt-A-Tree Christmas programs today. Businesses and residents can adopt and decorate trees on Dewar Drive and Elk Street in Rock Springs and Uinta Drive in Green River. Contact the local Chambers for details and signup information.
**** The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s office will be hosting another public auction of abandoned vehicles Tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Sheriff’s Office on U.S. 191 in Rock Springs. The viewing starts at 10:30 a.m., and the auction begins at 11 a.m. Check the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page for to be auctioned vehicle details.
**** Both Rock Springs and Lyman will continue their football playoff this Friday. The Tigers will host Cheyenne East in the 4A semi-finals, while Lyman will be home against Wheatland Friday afternoon in the 2A semi-finals.
**** The Rock Springs, Lyman, and Mountain View will continue their volleyball seasons at their respective state tournaments this week in Casper. In 4A, Rock Springs will open against Casper Kelly Walsh on Thursday evening. In 3A, top-seeded Mountain View will open against Newcastle on Thursday evening, while Lyman will open against Douglas late Thursday afternoon.
**** Wyoming Cowgirl basketball will play a second exhibition game this Friday evening against Colorado-Colorado Springs. Broadcast time will be at 6 p.m. with tip-off at 6:30 on WyoRadio’s 1360/103.5 KRKK and streamed at 1360KRKK.com.
