October 13, 2021 — Here is a recap of today’s top Wyo4News local stories.

**** We will be partly to mostly sunny today with breezy conditions and wind gusts to near 30 mph today and tonight. High today near 40, the low tonight at 24. We could see some isolated snow showers Thursday morning, then partly sunny skies. Thursday high is expected at 39, with the upper teens Thursday night. Friday should be sunny with a high of 43, with the 50s by the weekend.

**** In a media news conference Tuesday afternoon, Teton County Coroner Brent Blue stated that Gabby Petito died by strangulation three to four weeks before her body was found. Petito’s body was found on September 21 in Bridger-Teton National Forest after being report missing by her family around Labor Day. Blue stated the cause of death and manner of death would be released per Wyoming law. The search for the whereabouts of Petito’s boyfriend, Brian Laundries, a person of interest in her death, continues.

**** Last Sunday’s Faith and Blue event at the Sweetwater Events Complex resulted in over 300 pounds of food items being donated Monday to local food banks.

**** The Wyoming Foodbank of the Rockies will have another food distribution event this Saturday. Distribution will start at 1 p.m. behind the Star Stadium Theater off Foothill Boulevard. Food will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis and will continue until the pantry truck is depleted. Those attending are asked to have space available in your vehicle for the food bundles before your arrival.

**** The walking track at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center gym is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, with the refinished gym floor scheduled to reopen on Friday, October 22. Since mid-September, the gym has been closed for the floor to be repaired and refinished due to water damage.

****  The Rock Springs Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will hold a public workshop tomorrow,  Thursday, where the public will have the opportunity to voice their views on possible fee increases. According to a post on the City of Rock Springs Facebook page, every two years the advisory board looks at the current fees charged along with expenditures and anticipated budgets to decide if changes in fees charged need to be changed.

**** The Wyoming Cowboys will host Fresno State this Saturday. Broadcast time is at noon with the kickoff at 1:30 on WyoRadio’s 99.7 JACK-FM and 99KIT.com.
