October 6, 2021 — Here is a recap of this morning’s top Wyo4News local news stories.

**** A pretty decent chance for rain showers or thunderstorms this afternoon. High today at 59. Tonight should be dry with a low of 38. On Thursday, we could have a slight chance of showers in the afternoon and evening hours. Thursday high will be 64. A better chance of showers Friday with a high of 58.

**** The Rock Springs High School Homecoming parade will take place today at 5 p.m. The parade will wind through areas of downtown Rock Springs. We have pictures of last night’s bonfire celebration on the Wyo4News Facebook page.

****  The Rock Springs Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will hold a public workshop next Thursday, the 14th where the public will have the opportunity to voice their views on possible fee increases. According to a post on the City of Rock Springs Facebook page, every two years the advisory board looks at the current fees charged along with expenditures and anticipated budgets to decide if changes in fees charged need to be changed. Again, that public meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14 at Rock Springs City Hall Council Chambers beginning at 6:30 p.m.

**** Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County is now offering the Pfizer vaccine boosters shots for those 18 and older at their Vaccine Drive-Thru that takes place each Tuesday and Wednesday at the hospital. The vaccines are free, and no appointment is necessary, but you are asked to bring your vaccine card with you. The booster shots are for those who have been fully vaccinated for at least six months with the initial Pfizer vaccine doses.

**** The Sweetwater County Clerk’s Office will be offering another nighttime voter registration tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Green River Courthouse. Person registering need a legal ID. Residents can still register to vote on election day at the polls.

**** Last night in area high school Mountain View defeated Green River 3-0. Volleyball. No matches are scheduled for tonight. In girls swimming, Lyman defeated Evanston in a dual meet.

**** The 4-0 Wyoming Cowboys open Mountain West Conference play this Saturday evening at Air Force (4-1). The game will be broadcast on WyoRadio’s 99.7 JACK-FM and at 99KIT.com beginning at 3:30 p.m. with the kick-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
