- The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for Sweetwater County and some surrounding counties from noon today until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. The weather folks have also issued a winter weather alert for the area for late Wednesday and Wednesday night. More information here.
- The annual Green River Trunk or Treat is coming up this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Green River. The Green River URA is still accepting entries from any business or group that would like to participate. More information here.
- Here in Sweetwater County and across the nation, this week is National Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme is “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”. This year’s campaign is hoping to motivate people to develop and practice a home fire escape plan. According to the web site Firehouse.com, home fire escape plans are more important now than ever because today’s homes burn faster due to the synthetic fibers used in modern home furnishings, along with the fact that newer homes tend to be built with more open spaces and unprotected lightweight construction.
- Behind a late second-half goal by senior Summer Taube, the Wyoming soccer team defeated the Colorado College Tigers by a final of 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in Colorado Springs. More information here.
