July 1, 2021 — Yellowstone National Park is experiencing record numbers of visitors this summer, and park officials are offering tips to help families plan for a safe vacation.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, more than 43-thousand people entered the park, a 50 percent increase from the same time period the year before the pandemic’s travel restrictions (2019).

Park spokesperson Linda Veress says people should be sure they plan to sleep at night because most lodging and campgrounds in the park will be full. She also encourages all visitors to give the park’s wildlife plenty of space.

Traditionally July is the busiest month of the year for visitations to Yellowstone. Last year, the park registered over 955,000 visitors in July.
