Howard Mitchell Weston, age 71, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was a long-time resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Howard was born October 23, 1949 in Independence, Kansas; the son of David Weston and Henrietta Smith.
Howard attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and was a 1968 graduate of Rock Springs High School.
He loved riding in his Side-By-Side with his dog, Chewy. Howard enjoyed having coffee with close friends at the Renegade. He loved watching NFL games, having tea with his great-niece Adelynn Leisch and visiting with his great-niece Alysa Waters. Howard was also an avid hunter.
He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as an Air Traffic Controller in the United States Army.
Howard was a Heavy Equipment Operator at Sweetwater County Solid Waste for 17 years until his retirement in 2015. Prior to that, he worked for many years for Rahonce Construction Company.
He is survived by one brother; Jim Weston and wife Dawn of Brandon, Florida, two sisters; Mary Potter of Mesquite, Nevada and Joyce Deller of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two nieces, Lori Leisch and husband Steve; Tammy Garner and husband Jeremy; one nephew, Keith Potter all of Rock Springs; as well as several cousins; nieces and nephews. Howard is also survived by his beloved dog Chewy who has found a home with Steve, Lori and Addy. Chewy misses Howard terribly but has found some solace in playing with his new little brother, Gage.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack Weston and Leroy Weston; two brothers-in-law, John Potter and David Deller.
Cremation will take place; no services will be conducted at his request.
