Sue Ann Carter Lewis, 69, passed away October 1, 2021 at her home in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

She was born on December 21, 1951 in Lovell, Wyoming, the daughter of Norval Edwin Carter and Alice Roberts.

Sue attended Byron High School before receiving her Master of Arts Degree from the University of Wyoming.

She worked as a teacher until her retirement in 2012.

Sue married Joe Lewis in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 10, 1971.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Sue enjoyed spending her time gardening, sewing, making arts and crafts, and teaching her beloved grandchildren about everything.

Survivors include her husband Joe Lewis of Rock Springs, WY; daughters Kimberly Bonniksen and husband Eric of Camino, CA, Laurie Heron McCown of Des Moines, IA, Sandi Walker and husband Dustin of Lyman, WY, Elizabeth “Libby” Garcia of Rock Springs, WY, Kristin Heath of Rock Springs, WY; brothers Brent Carter and wife Glenna of AZ, Dan Williamson and wife Colleen of WA, Don Williamson of TX; sisters Sharon Carter Dusenberry and husband Bill of CO, and Sheila Williamson Becker of NV. Grandchildren, Nicholas (Kaitlyn) Bonniksen, Derek Bonniksen, Caelan Bonniksen, Sydni (Max) Hilton, Xavier (Elizabeth) Heron, Jedediah (Summer) Moore, Quinn Heron, Kamryn Heron, Sierra (Isaac) Pastor, Kylie Walker, Brooklyn Walker, Alexis Walker, Elijah Carpenter, Joseph I Lewis, Madeline Lewis, Chloe Garcia, Lily Garcia, Carter Heath, Kiana Heath, Kailani Heath, Collin Heath, Great Grandchildren, Atlas Hilton, Henry Heron, Sofia Pastor

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son Joseph Robert Lewis, two brothers Kent Carter, Sheldon Carter, and one sister Sherrie Lee Carter.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2055 Edgar Street Rock Springs, WY. It will also be the funeral of her son-in-law, Chris Heath. A viewing will be held at 11:30 am at the church prior to services.  

Interment will take place in the Millburne Cemetery.
