ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING (October 21, 2021) — This week’s Rock Springs Student-Athlete of the Week is Kamrynn James. Kamrynn is a 12th grader that plays Volleyball (Outside Hitter) for Rock Spring High.
Kamrynn was nominated by Shawn Pyer, RSHS Head Volleyball Coach because “Kamrynn always shows exceptional leadership and ability at our tournament this weekend. Not only was she outstanding statistically, but she was always positive and led her team by example.”
Kamrynn states that she chose volleyball because “I’ve loved volleyball since I started playing when I was younger. My favorite things about the game are getting to play with my teammates and having good chemistry on the court.”
Her motivation comes from the desire to improve her volleyball game and to fill her role for the rest of the team so they are successful.
She looks up to her mother for introducing her to volleyball. Her mother also played volleyball and has always had high expectations for her on the court.
Her future plans are to continue school in a health-related field, but she has not yet decided where yet.
